Hello! I am Grandmaster Nam K. Hyong, Ph.D., and I have developed a system comprised of four principles that will help you achieve your goals. When following my principles, my Tae Kwon Do students and personal coaching students find it within their power to create long-lasting results and turn their goals from impossible to attainable. Losing weight, the cessation of smoking, overcoming phobias, improving motivation, and increasing financial freedom are just a few of the areas where I have helped my students succeed.
A principle of my system is streamlining of a psychological methodology called “NLP”. NLP stands for “Neuro-Linguistic Programming” and was co-founded by a man named Richard Bandler. Bandler, wanting to focus on a process of “Becoming Excellence”, developed NLP as a means to study the role of language in our mind. NLP is a method that states that language, being the ultimate programmer of our mind, is especially important in our internal challenge. Talking to, or thinking about, yourself negatively will lead to negative results and impede your ability to “Become Excellence”. On the other hand, using the specifics of NLP, you can program your mind to be positively strengthened, and in turn allow you to realize your goals. NLP attains this positive programming through the use of directed visualizations, auditory queues, and kinesthetic associations.
After five years of studying this methodology, I became a certified as an NLP programmer by Richard Bandler himself and was invited to attend his very unique and powerful course called “Human Design Engineering”. I experienced firsthand the power of linguistic programming in my own areas that needed improving, such as my speech and even my tennis playing! The power that NLP has on our minds is what lead me to incorporate what I’ve learned from Bandler into my personal success system as my second principle.
Another principle of my system is “Hypnotherapy”. Many people already know what this method entails: hypnosis. What most people do not realize is that the term “hypnotherapy” is more specifically defined as “the use of hypnosis for a medical or therapeutic outcome, typically the treatment of various health issues or psychological problems.” One of the biggest and best names in hypnotherapy is that of Milton Erickson. In the 1950’s, Erickson had a vastly different approach to the technique of achieving hypnosis and the publication of his methods, his theories, and his solution-based achievements became well known. Eventually, he became a great influencer of future practitioners, therapists, and studiers of hypnotherapy. My own study of Erickson’s practice lead to my decision to have a double-major in Psychology and Hypnotherapy at the university. Erickson’s ability to fix just about any issue his patients were experiencing lead me to want to master his methodology as well. In addition, I strived to create a streamlined version of his hypnotherapeutic approach into my own method that could work effectively in a one-on-one setting as well as a group setting or course setting.
Lastly, achieving personal success comes from learning Tae Kwon Do is also a principle. Being a Grandmaster of Tae Kwon Do, a title that took most of my life to achieve, I know intimately the power that this martial arts practice has on our ability to face challenges bravely, to remain centered in our focus on our goals, and to remain steadfast on our journey towards improvement. One phrase I am fond of is that “Motion Creates Emotion” – meaning that Tae Kwon Do can be everything from a fun exercise outlet to a harmonious and spiritual experience.
Using these principles, I have a created a personal success system that is truly unbeatable. With this system, a have streamlined a lifetime of studies and developed a love for liberating people from their self-contained problems and difficult situations, and helping them achieve success.
