A child sits at the table with a plate of food in front of him. The food is getting cold, but he can’t get up and leave. His parents work hard for their money and food is not to be wasted.
So, he sits there, trying to finish everything on his plate.
Right then there is a subconscious habit forming for the rest of his life. He has programmed himself to eat everything on your plate and everything presented to you.
Every dinner time, this subconscious belief is reinforced throughout his life.
The reality is... your subconscious plays a HUGE part in how you choose to live and make decisions. Your subconscious is to blame for blocking you when you make the decision to try and live healthier and eat smaller portions or healthier foods. Then when you add the stress of being a grown-up, your obstacles become even greater.
Remember, it’s NOT your fault. It’s science.
Your bodies stress-response increases levels of cortisol in your body. Your anxiety is causing these cortisol levels to cause fat to build up in the stomach and leads to an increase in weight. The longer that a person experiences stress and anxiety, the more weight he or she can potentially gain.
