Statistically, one of every three Americans is overweight or obese. This is a rather bleak number. It leaves some skeptical that there really is any such thing as a cure-all quick fix. To some degree, this is actually a very accurate line of thought. There is no one miracle diet or one fat-busting workout that is effective for everyone, every time. If there was, there would not be a one-in-three statistic.
Behind the numbers
Truth be told, America is overweight for a reason, but not the same reason. There are many factors which contribute to this American crisis. Stress, poor diet, lack of physical ACTIVITY or exercise, low willpower, depression, quitting smoking... the list of reasons goes on and on.
The problem is that playing the blame game between diets has little effect on the numbers on the scale. Knowing there is a problem doesn’t fix it. If the pipes are leaking, it does little by way of repair to point at a spot on the wall and say the problem is right in there. To get the problem solved, you need to open the walls to access the pipe, fix it and stop the leak.
Accessing the inaccessible
Hypnotherapy does just that. It doesn’t matter how deeply the problem is buried. The power of desire and wanting to live the best, most fulfilling life you can, free of excess weight and the problems it brings, is harnessed. The root cause buried deep within the walls of the unconscious psyche is revealed. All diets are doomed to failure until the conscious and subconscious mind are working together in harmony.
Stress is easily channeled into other avenues. Actually, the physical reaction to stress that causes overeating is one of the simplest changes NLP and hypnotherapists can make. When the brain is stressed, it can be retrained to relieve the negative emotions in a more productive way. In the case of weight loss goals, why not teach the mind to turn to a brisk walk or a yoga session instead of the kitchen to soothe stressors away?
When partnered with powerful and positive new self-talk, the brain is able to kick our own efforts into high gear. Stress happens; there is no way to avoid it. Making friends with stress and harnessing the side effects of this emotion is a great way to make permanent weight loss a reality for you.
