Steve Jobs studied meditation under Japanese Zen Master Kobun Otogawa for over 10 years. Through meditation, he learned how to quiet his mind and release stress which in turn helped him open up his creative thought process. Jobs applied these simple yet practical processes to his company to produce the products he envisioned. He was not only able to help himself but encouraged his employees to practice as well.
After seeing the powerful example through Jobs, many globally known companies adopted these methods to reduce stress, anxiety and ultimately open up their inner KI to create peace within themselves.
The study of meditation became a popular way for employees to improve the workplace level of concentration and relaxation at the same time. It has also been a very popular way to reduce frustration and friction amongst coworkers. It showed many Fortune 100 companies what was needed to work more effectively and more focused to make results turn out faster, sharper, and better over time to match our demand and competition.
As a result, the level of stress and discontent in the workplace decreased and creativity, positivity and effort increased.
The take away from this is that we can be a lot more productive through means of calming our state of mind. When we take a moment of meditation, we become more focused. It helps your mind and body work together in harmony – allowing us to be at our best.
I strongly encourage you to read “Mindfulness” by Joseph Goldstein and experience a free month of meditation under me. As a Grandmaster in Tae Kwon Do and Tai Chi, I can show you the way.
